I came in from chores this morning to see all the colors from my dining room window.

I fully welcome change and love to embrace each new season of life.  I dearly love Autumn and all it brings.

As our family slows down a bit from canning and preserving, we will spend a little more time in the kitchen and anticipate serving new dishes from the foods we have preserved.  It is a time spent more in front of the fireplace reading to the children and less distractions from the outside world.  It is a time where the simple can outweigh chaos.

Often in our family, when one season slows down, another picks up in speed.  Events and get-togethers seem to fill the calendar and you question how that happened so quickly.

Some days, I juggle a lot of balls and wear many hats, but especially during the holidays.  These 2 things I have learned to implement.

1. Being intentional on the meaning of this season is foundational for my mindset.  This keeps me grounded and on the right path.

2. I find rest in opening my Bible daily.  I find strength in His Word when I feel pulled into the busyness of this life.  This keeps the spirit and quiets my heart.

The busyness of life will always be there.  But when we can remember to implement principles that work, we then can find respite knowing Jesus is necessary.
