He’s headed to the butcher this afternoon, and he’s going to be missed, especially by this girl.  This was her first calf she helped deliver.  He’s been so gentle and unusually calm for a steer.  I wish I could clone him… all 1255 pounds. 

Thankful is an understatement.

Side note for my friends who love grass fed meat! You can feed your cattle off the land and get this kind of weight from steers.  We add our homemade ACV to their water trough to keep them healthy and a small amount of minerals a day.  It also has taken a lot of patience throughout the years and caring for the land one acre at a time.
