A friend of mine sent a message to me this morning for Natalie.  This is as much for her as it is all mothers, so I would like to share this with you.

“You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, & training them up in God’s fear, & minding the house, & making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts.”

C.H. Spurgeon – The Prince of Preachers

I cannot think of a more appropriate quote to describe my bride and mother of my children.  Thank you, Natalie, for your selfless sacrifice and dedication to one of God’s highest callings—motherhood.

You are the most diligent person I know.  You love big and are loyal to your people.  You have overcome so much in your life and I’m proud to have watched you blossom into who you were meant to be.  You have never once bought into the lie that raising our children and creating a house into our home was a life of drudgery.  Never once did you believe that you were held back or detained by raising a family alongside me.  It was you who desired to live out your days loving and caring for those around you.  It was you who desired to be your children’s teacher.  And it was you that inspired me to be a better man despite how hard your role is at times.  You make it look easy.  What you do and who you have become encourages me when I think of how hard you have worked to be a better version of yourself every single day.  May you have many more Mother’s Days with your children and grandchildren.

And may I add a very Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers who are dedicated to raising this next generation of children.  God sees each one of you. Keep going!
