It Is Finished
I can’t imagine what it was like for Jesus to be mocked, ridiculed, and beaten only to be nailed and hung on the cross to die for something He did not do. The same people who claim they were protecting Rome from Jesus’s teachings, were the scoffers of the very scripture He preached. He was innocent, yet executed by the guilty. He was hated, but chose to love us. He gives life, is life, but Who chose to die for those that they might receive life. And for the Jews that wished death upon Jesus, to allow a murderer to be set free instead, to killing of lambs during Passover, while rejecting and being responsible for the death of the One true lamb of God, this is our Good Friday.
This is what the Cross did for Christians. This is where Christ said, “It is finished.” Jesus died for scoffers, for the ones who rejected and beat him, for the sick and wounded.
I can’t imagine loving mankind so deeply that I would choose to be ridiculed, accused, slandered, beaten, and murdered in the way He did.
The price has been paid friends.
Accept, believe, and receive.
It sounds simple because it is.
Repentance is a requirement and forgiveness is a gift.
This is Good Friday because it is finished!
