My sweet boys, as I tuck you in tonight, my heart is conflicted as I watch you grow before my very eyes. I blink and you’re all taller than the day before.

My heart is a little achy because I want you to stay little for just a little longer, but that’s not what I’m created to do. My goal as your mother is to teach, train, and help point you in the right direction so you may grow into responsible gentlemen who fear the Lord.

My prayer for you this evening is that you allow God’s leading in your life, that you are not swayed by the world’s foolishness, and that you see others how the Lord sees them. May you treat all human beings with gentleness and kindness, and your humility is evident in your daily activities. May you bring light into a dark world, be a fountain so others can drink, and your ministry be a bridge for others seeking hope.
I love you boys very much, but I understand now that God loves you more.

I lean against this door watching you and I smile seeing each of you at different stages of life.

One is reading Brown Bear Brown Bear, well, looking at the pictures anyway. The next is reading his Bible (his goal this year was to start in Genesis and finish all 66 books by December!) And the one on top, who seems to be growing an inch every day, is devouring one chapter book after another.

So as I watch you three grow, I am continually reminded to parent with an open hand. As much as I wish to have a pause button on life, my camera will have to do the pausing for me.
A moment in time is what I capture so that I may store it away in my memory bank.

Your time under our roof is safe, away from the chaos of the world, and in harmony as one unit. You are a gift to our family, and I am so grateful that He decided to give you each other. Not to mention, you have given me the gift of being your mother.

Being your mother has been a role that God continues to use in my life to cause me to NEED Christ, lean on Him, and rely on His grace. So I thank you for that. You are part of a sanctifying process in my life.

God is so kind in how He orchestrates every step of our journey. And I pray He uses family, friends, and ministry in your journey with Him as well.

I love you without hesitation.

Your Mama
