Mighty Oaks

Jason and I planted this oak tree when we first moved here.  It is giant and has served many of our little ones’ naptime.  We have had many picnics and tea parties under this mighty oak.  It has served as a backdrop for family photos and given us shade for afternoon conversation.  It has given our boys strong branches to climb and many school days of quiet reading time. 

We didn’t help this oak with staking it as it grew, or overwatering.  I envisioned that it could reach for its potential in height, and for it to dig its roots deep down in the ground so when the storms came, it could withstand the blow.

It has served as a reminder of how mighty an oak really is and the parallels we can use to learn from.

Love my little one.  Lots of quiet time and wonderful memories have been acquired under this beautiful tree.
