I was asked by my first grade teacher what I wanted to be when I grew up. I had a simple answer. I wanted to be a wife and a mother. But she told me I had to pick something else.

I must have had a mental block because I told her I didn’t want to be anything else. She said I had to pick something other than being JUST a mother. So I thought about my grandmother.

She was an elementary teacher and my thoughts wandered into the possibility of being in the same classroom/building as my kids every day.

As unsettled as I felt, I conformed to her wishes of me expressing an interest in doing something other than Just.Being.A.Mother.

I guess I could be a teacher, right?

She was happy with my answer.

Little did I know then that God would give me ALL 3 of those dreams almost 15 years later, but an even better understanding than I had imagined.

Today, and 11 kids later, I’ve been educating at home for over 2 decades, being a wife to Jason, and creating an environment where we all do life together. Only God could do that!

His ways are always higher than our own.
