In Genesis, God creates man in His own image. He then takes a part out of Adam, his rib, a place very close to Adam’s heart, and creates Eve. From that day, something within men has been missing. A part of God’s image, if you will.
Where can it be found? Right where He put it. In women.
Mothers are beyond special. They are divine. The role of a mother is an expression of an aspect of God’s nature.
As a man I find myself in awe of how my wife navigates her environment. She thinks and responds in ways that are completely different from how I would respond.
I am grateful for my own mother who demonstrated a level of love and concern that fostered a nurturing environment. I am blessed to have grown up in that type of home.
I am also eternally grateful that I was given a wife who exhibits those same attributes so that my children are given the opportunity to know a part of God on a personal level.
Thank you Mom, Natalie, and all mothers who continue to place others before themselves, and for being a vessel this side of Heaven.
