One more appointment for this girl and we get to set an out-date for her braces! She is so responsible with brushing and taking care of herself. I’m so glad I get to be her mom and watching her grow into quite the young lady. She’s the sunshine in our day.

Funny story: I typically bring my calendar with me to town for the days we have appointments because let’s face it, there’s just too much going on that I need to keep track of who is going where, when. It comes with launching growing children into adulthood.

The secretary and dental assistant made note of my paper calendar and asked how old I was. Then they took that question back immediately with, “Never mind, never mind.”

I smiled and said I wasn’t offended. They said, “Are you a millennial?” I said, “No. I’m GenX.” Then I asked why? She said, “You look like you’re either 35 or 38.”
My girls were giggling and then I started laughing. I said, “After 40, all 65, 55, and 45 year olds look the same to me.” The secretary 100% agreed and said that she liked my calendar, and doesn’t see millennials carry paper calendars.
I am so out of my comfort zone, but I did it for her
It’s funny what people notice about your age, and what category they place you in when you live with “old school” routines and systems. Not that technology is a bad thing, I’ve just learned my lesson on using online calendars on my phone. I try not to relive those mistakes.

But I love my hard copies of everything- from physical copies of books to paper calendars, to paper notebooks for the kid’s school work to making my to-do lists on, to keeping a hard copy of physical addresses for letter writing.

Yes, I am old! I still hand write letters to family and friends.

Anyone else getting older and still live with old-school systems?

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: But a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Proverbs 31:30

Much love and sunshine today,

Natalie
