I was asked by my first-grade teacher what I wanted to be when I grew up.  I had a simple answer.  I wanted to be a wife and a mother.  But she told me I had to pick something else.

I must have had a mental block because I told her I didn’t want to be anything else.  She said I had to pick something other than being just a mother.  So I thought about my grandmother.

She was an elementary teacher and my thoughts wandered into the possibility of being in the same classroom/building as my kids every day.

As unsettled as I felt, I conformed to her wishes of me expressing an interest in doing something other than Just.Being.A.Mother.  I thought, “I guess I could be a teacher, right?”

She was happy with my answer and it never got brought up again.

Little did I know then that God would give me ALL 3 of those dreams, but an even better understanding than I had imagined it to be at 6 years of age.

Today, and 11 kids later, I’ve been educating at home for over 2 decades, being a wife to Jason, and creating an environment where we all do life together.

Only God could do that!

I am so thankful His ways are always higher than my own.

However you got to where you are at, enjoy the journey.  You were made for such a time.
