Pray for eyes that see the best in others,

Hands that are able to serve,

Ears that are quick to listen,

Lips that speak life and encouragement,

Feet that are willing to go,

A heart that forgives the worst,

Thoughts that are fixed on what is true,

Strength that only Christ can give,

And a faith that is unshakable.

I can not tell you how many times my perspective has shifted towards others when praying this over myself.  It has helped me through some of my hardest days.

When I focus on the blessings Christ gives me, such as the power of a sound mind, my hands and feet that can serve in some way, supernatural strength, zipping my lip when I need to listen more, and edifying someone else when I feel less than worthy, I am filled.  Only Christ can do that.

Focusing on others allows me the ability to shift my attention to the needs of those around me instead of feeling sad about a specific issue I may be dealing with in my own heart.

Here are some of my favorite verses I have had to memorize when the enemy is causing me to doubt myself, having feelings of defeat, feel unworthy, my thoughts to be scattered, and not in a place of peace.

“Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

Psalm 61:1-2

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”

2 Corinthians 10:4-6

When we speak these Truths over ourselves, there is something beautiful that happens within our spirit.  Satan can not refute scripture because he knows the Bible is true, and his time is short.  He will flee from you because he can not be anywhere Jesus reigns.

Speak truth in your quiet time with Jesus.  Speak life into your heart.  Speak out loud what is glorifying to Christ.  Encourage yourself like David did when he felt weary.  Scripture NEVER returns void because there is power in speaking the Word of God!
