Pumpkin Latte

I love this time of year!  

With the new season, I love reflecting on the provision God has provided during the planting and growing months, and in return reaping the harvest of our hard work.  With all that entails, I am grateful for the slower pace that Autumn brings.  

If you are like me, you love the warmth of a pumpkin latte during these crisp, cool months.  With leaves turning colors of burnt orange, golden yellow, and deep red, the night drawing in and fires being lit, Autumn is the perfect time to settle down with your family with lattes in hand.

Pumpkin Latte:

Ingredients:

1 cup whole milk

2 Tablespoons pumpkin puree

1 Tablespoon honey

1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (*homemade recipe below)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup hot espresso

whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions:

Whisk, froth, or steam milk to your liking.  Set aside.

Cream pumpkin puree, honey, and vanilla.  Pour espresso into preferred mug; add creamed pumpkin mixture to this.  Stir until incorporated.  Pour your foamed milk into the espresso mixture.  If preferred, top with whipped cream and sprinkle spices on top.

*Homemade pumpkin pie spice:

  • 3 T. ground cinnamon
  • 2 t. ground ginger
  • 2 t. ground nutmeg
  • 1 t. ground allspice
  • 1 t. ground cloves

Stir all spices together and store in a sealed jar.
